A Family Business
A family business - that’s how it’s always been at fonaCAB. Ever since Sidney McCausland bought his first 15 black Fairway (FX4) taxis back in 1962. It didn’t take long before the fleet expanded to 30, then 90, then 120.
A man who always loved his cars, his passion must have been in his blood. William, his son, got involved in the business during the 1980s and is the company’s CEO today and now looks after a fleet of over 900 cars and drivers.
Through the decades, fonaCAB has evolved to embrace new technology and new business models. The first to install data heads, a fully automated booking system, text back services and now the new easy to use App, fonaCAB continues to innovate and lead the way in delivering an exceptional taxi service.
Times change and technologies evolve, but one core principle remains constant – the desire to always be there for the people of Northern Ireland, whatever their day holds in store.

With over 900 cars on the road, fonaCAB is almost part of the furniture throughout the towns and cities of Northern Ireland. There’s always lots going on – loads of great offers, competitions, cool prizes and up to the minute news and views.
We try to support all sorts of initiatives that improve the lives and wellbeing of the people we serve. Just as important are the interests of our drivers. If it’s important to them, then it’s important to us.
